students and families
Special discounts are available to students (under 19 years of age) and families by calling our office. GBS aims to make symphonic music available and affordable to everyone in our community.
The Symphony can be a life-changer, especially in the hyper-digitalized world of today. The music of GBS is more relevant now than ever. Kids who are exposed to symphonic music end up better students. It’s a healthy break from their iPhones!
To make the symphony more accessible for families, GBS is offering discounted Family Pack Tickets this season. A family of five can attend a GBS concert for as little as $55.50. It’s less than the cost of a movie, and it’s truly high quality live entertainment.
Parents/guardians get 15% off regular pricing in any seating section at The Klein Memorial Auditorium; young people age 19 and under get their tickets for only $10 apiece. See a pricing chart.
Parents, bring your children out to the Symphony for a night they'll never forget! No amps, no electronics, no gimmicks -- just pure music, made right in front of you.
It's a one-of-a-kind, original experience.
Family pack tickets must be purchased through the gbs office. please call (203)576-0263 for details.

the doris and herbert harrington pre-concert lecture series
PRECEDING EACH SERIES CONCERT
Ticket holders for GBS concerts are invited to 30-minute pre-concert talks, designed to provide background on the composers and works being performed.
The auditorium doors open at 6:45 PM for the talks. You are invited to sit up close, in the Front Orchestra section, for the talk, and move to your own seats after 7:30 PM for the evening's concert.
Presenting our lectures are two distinguished GBS Trustees: Dr. Jeffrey Johnson, a Professor of Music at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut and an active journalist and writer, and Dr. Orin Grossman, Professor Emeritus of Visual and Performing Arts at Fairfield University, and active interpreter and piano recitalist presenting the music of George Gershwin, playing his songs and classical compositions around the globe.
This series is named in honor of longtime Chairman of the Board Doris Harrington and her husband Herb, who continue to work diligently for (and generously support) GBS.
We hope you take advantage of this special way to enhance your appreciation for works chosen for each of our concerts.
